Delhi onwards

India here we come!!!!!

sunny 28 °C

Well - as we arrived in Delhi I thought I had lost my luggage but luckily someone had just removed it from the carousel and when everyone had gone it remained - thank goodness!!!!!

Then it was 5/6/7/ lanes of traffic , maybe, at midnight - what an introduction!!!!!

All day sight-seeing next day, visiting Old Delhi as New Delhi, India's largest mosque - Jana Masjid.
We also went to a modern Hindu temple Ghandi Smriti, where he was assassinated, India Gate, World War 1 Memorial, drove by the viceroy's Residence and Parliament House. We also went to Qutab Minar which was really a tall tower..

Next morning early we left for Udaipur - City of Lakes - where our hotel was an old palace on a hilltop overlooking a lake.

It was on the coach en-route from Udaipur to Jodphurand we went by a bush -type circuitous route via a Jain Temple - quite interesting and beautiful architecture. Then it was on to Jodphur to see a tremendous fort overlooking the city - 5 kms long. saw a Maharjara's Tomb. after that we visited the Spice Market and here we had a ride on a ricksP1010609.jpghaw.
